My experience

Health-supportive food has always been a part of my life. From childhood, I was fortunate to have grown up with home cooked meals nightly, farm fresh produce, locally sourced meats and fish, and participation of the entire family in the cooking and consumption of meals. The tradition of family meals and teamwork in the kitchen shaped my outlook on working well with others.

I carried that passion into culinary school where I studied under Dr. Annemarie Colbin. I learned to balance meals and hone my cooking skills. From there, I worked for a variety of personal clients from cancer sufferers to high profile celebrities looking for delicious home-cooked meals. I also spent time in professional kitchens such as Angelica Kitchen.

Teaching has been the most rewarding to me.  I am able to touch the lives of others by imparting my experiences and knowledge to students. Paired with my culinary skills, I use my Administrative and organizational expertise a chance to thrive through Writing curriculum, researching, recipe testing, writing protocol, and policies.

Loyal and driven towards success, I have dedicated my energy to these endeavors for over 20 years.

 Let me help you.

In over 30 years in the food service industry, as cook, chef, culinary journalist, and eventually cooking school instructor, I’ve served under every type of leadership one could imagine. Tantrum-throwing tyrants, supportive and nurturing mentors, bipolar substance abusers, strict disciplinarians, and engaged confidence-builders stands out the most memorable. So it’s with great seriousness that I endorse Lisa Boymann, my manager of six formative years at the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City, as one of the best leaders for whom I’ve ever worked.
